After lunching the first ever curved surface smartphone Galaxy Round Samsung is in the center of attraction and also the hot discussion topic of the day. Earlier this month rumor was there that LG is planning to lunch a phone with vertically curved surface so as Apple smart watch is coming with flexible display, whereas the lunch of Galaxy Round is enough to kindle the fire of competition among it’s rivals.
Definitely the technology has moved a step ahead ultimately they are heading towards the so called wearable technology. Though the phone comes with a curved surface but not flexible the display may be. For that you have to isolate it completely from the body and then check. Sounds crazy but that’s just one way leave that it’s not our concern. But you can’t deny the possibility of devices having flexible display in near future. With the curved surface the device fit comfortably to the pockets of your jeans. That sounds really cool.
The Galaxy Round look like that of Galaxy Note3 expect it has a curved surface which was flat in Note3. The screen is the same 5.7” and the rear panel of the body comes with faux-leather and stitching unlike Note3.
The resolution (1080×1920) and the pixel density (386ppi) remains same as note3. Features a 13MP rear camera and a 2MP front facing camera.
It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 system chipset along with Quad core Krait 400 processor clocked at 2.3GHz. Adreno 330 GPU and a 3GB of RAM It is also packed under it’s hood. The device is running on Android v4.3 Jelly Bean OS and Powered by a 2800mAh battery.
It comes with a new really cool features called tilt function which allows you to check missed calls and notifications even if the home screen is locked. You can do this by simply pressing the screen left or right.
Though Samsung is using curved display still they are searching to manufacture flexible display in a large scale and more important is with a lower cost as much as possible. According to them the battery used in Galaxy Round is not curved unlike the display. Earlier it’s near town rivalry LG had unveiled the story of making the curved battery and even the cylindrical battery for aiming to use those in some future wearable device. Definitely Samsung is going to face a tough competition in future.
The Galaxy Round is going to hit the Korean market through South Korea’s biggest mobile carrier SK Telecom from 10th October i.e tomorrow.
