Earlier this month Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung unveiled the much awaited smartphone Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy gear smart watch at the IFA conference in Berlin. Yesterday Samsung Galaxy Note 3 priced at Rs 49,900 and Galaxy Gear smart watch at Rs22,900 was lunched in India. Preorder of the the combo started for at Rs 2,000 in Indian market price.
Design and OS:
The device measures 151.2×79.2×8.3mm equipped with 1.9 GHz Exynos 5 octa core processor (Quad-core 1.9 GHz Cortex-A15 & quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A7)and weighs only 170 grams. But it will not be available with Quad-core 2.3 GHz Krait 400 processor in India due to unavailability of LTE brands in India. It’s speed is surely unmatchable with other’s there with massive 3 GB RAM.
Note 3 comes with an advance S Pen, which enable users to access new menu called Air Command installed in the Android 4.3 OS. It comes with the following various sensors Gesture, Compass and Accelerometer, Geo-magnetic, gyroscope, RGB , Proximity , Barometer & Humidity , Hall Sensor.
The rear panel of the body comes with faux-leather and stitching , which gives more premium look. But I really don’t know why a company like Samsung is not making its flagship devices with aluminum to make it even more premium. It looks thinner, lighter, slimmer and almost same size as it’s predecessor only the screen is little taller . The Galaxy Note 3 comes with a 3,200mAh Lithium ion polymer type battery. It’s not that impressive compared to processer and display moreover it is ok.
The Galaxy Note 3 comes with 5.7 inch(144.3mm) screen with Full HD Super AMOLED capacitive touch-screen with 16million colors. The resolution is about 1920x1080p with pixel density of 389 ppi also supports multi touch. Display is good enough and much more fun to watch HD videos and movies.
Rear camera:13 megapixel, BSI sensor, Auto Focus with smart stabilization, LED flash with high CRI , zero shutter lag, simultaneous image recording and geo- tagging. It records 1080p full HD videos, and it will not be able to record 4K videos.
Front camera: 2 megapixel which gives much more clarity to enjoy video calling. Also provides full HD recording at 30 fps.
Supports recording UHD(30 fps),Smooth motion (FHD 60fps),slow motion (HD 120fps)
It comes with two different package i.e 32GB or 64GB inbuilt memory and the memory is further expandable up to 64 GB through micro SD card slot. It comes with 3GB RAM which is highest among any other phone available at present time. That allow user for multitasking at a greater level.
Network and Connectivity:
The phone comes with 4G LTE connectivity that will work all over the world with different LTE networks. But the Indian edition will not come with the LTE. It comes with both single SIM and dual SIM.
There is also 3G (HSPA+42Mbps:850/900/1900/2100Mhz) connectivity and WI-FI with all supported configuration. WI-FI hot spot enable U to use the phone as hotspot. It also supports 2.5G (GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 850/900/1800/1900Mhz).
Some additional features like Bluetooth v4.0, micro USB port, infrared red and NFC are also there.
Definitely Samsung’s Note III is packed with the latest technology. The superfast processor, 3 GB of RAM with most advanced SPen can give you an output that is more intuitive. But the problem lies with the price. Rs 49,900 seems to be too higher for a product like this where products of same configuration from its rival are available at a much lesser price. No doubt that these price are going to come down as it happened with S3 and the latest S4.
